All registered students at Murdoch University are eligible to apply for accommodation at the Village. This is irrespective of whether you are a full time, part-time, undergraduate or postgraduate student or a research assistant. Teachers and tutors at Murdoch University are also eligible to apply.

No pets, including fish, may be kept in the Village. Additionally, residents are not permitted to bring animals onto the grounds of the Village. This Rule does not apply to the extent that it restricts the keeping of a guide or hearing dog.

The Village hosts a diverse range of residents from all over the world and across Australia, and we see this as a true strength of our community. To ensure fairness, we don't give preference to any group over others. Therefore we encourage all applicants to submit the relevant forms as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Linen and kitchen packs can be ordered from the Village. We'll have them ready for you before you arrive so you won't have to transport them yourself!

If you'd like to share an apartment with a friend, please specify this on your application form. Given our high demand, we can't guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we'll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

The earlier you and your friend apply, the easier it is for us to assign you to the same apartment.

Towards the end of second semester (October), applications are sent out to all residents to apply to continue in residence over summer (December - February) or for the following year.

Residents that have commitments over the summer months (eg. for work or study) can contact us to discuss their needs and extend their agreement during the summer period.

Spouses, partners, boyfriends or girlfriends can apply for accommodation at Murdoch University Village. There are Queen/Twin rooms available or couples can have individual rooms in the same apartment. These are subject to availability.

All residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and apartments clean. A cleaning service can be organised for a fee. Please contact us for more information.

Broadband connectivity is available in every bedroom at the Village. For information on internet packages, please contact us.

The Village also has a fully equipped e-library located in the Study Centre (Building 93). The e-library is accessible 24 hours a day and has internet access available for a fee.

Murdoch University Village is a 20 minute bus ride from Perth CBD. THe Village is located on the Murdoch University campus and it takes approximately 10 minutes to walk to the opposite side of campus and 5 minutes to the University library and learning common.

Murdoch University Village runs on a semester basis. All residents are required in their Residential Agreement to pay fees and charges over 21 or 42 weeks.

Residents who do not wish to stay in the Village over the summer holiday period may vacate their room. Residents that have commitments over the summer months (eg. for work or study) can contact us to discuss their needs and extend their agreement during the summer period.

Murdoch University Village doesn't provide catering, however each apartment is equipped with a full kitchen including a fridge, stovetop and microwave, so feel free to cook up a storm or throw together a quick meal at any time of day!

There is also a food court, cafe and tavern within Murdoch University campus.

All residents need to supply their own:

• Bed linen, quilts/blankets and pillows (check your room type to ensure you bring the right size)
• Towels and tea towels
• Cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils
• Laundry detergent and dish washing detergent
• Iron, ironing board and air dryer for clothes (optional)
• Cleaning supplies
• Meals

On arrival to Murdoch University Village, all successful applicants will be notified of the apartment they will be located in. This information will not be released before the date of checking into Murdoch University Village.

Murdoch University can arrange airport transfers for new international students at Murdoch University. You must request this service at least 14 days prior to your departure from home by going to the Murdoch University website.
