Personal safety

Safety of the Village and of the residents is every one’s responsibility.  Should you see a suspicious person make sure you let your RA know.  Keep your door locked at all times and be aware of emergency procedures.

SECURITY

University Security patrols the grounds from 11:00pm until 8:30am to ensure the facility remains safe for you to enjoy.  Additionally there are strategically positioned duress alarms which link back to University Security Control Centre.

If you are working late within the University you can arrange an escort from security back to the village by calling 9360 6555

RA's

And, we have Resident Assistants (RA’s), senior students who complete on-call shifts each night of the week, providing an initial point of contact for residents regarding lock-outs, peer support issues and general support. You can contact the RA’s 24 hours a day by dialling an internal extension or through the various communication boxes located around the Village.
